Definition:

The preoral food cavity between the base of the hypopharynx and the under surface of the clypeus, clypeopalatum; serving as the primary sucking organ in mosquitoes and many other insects. In mosquito larvae, the part of the preoral cavity between the clypeopalatum and the hypopharynx.
