Holotype ♀, Rott, near Meissner, Germany (compression / impression).

Depository: 

Location unknown.

Note: 

The species, originally placed in genus Culex, was transferred to genus Culicites by Meunier (1915); automatically transferred to genus Neoculicites with replacement of the preoccupied name by Evenhuis (1994). Possibly an ‘Aedes' sensu auctorum (Edwards, 1923).
