Type data:

Holotype ♂, near Grassy Lake village, Alberta, Canada (in Canadian Cretaceous amber).

Depository:

Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, Drumheller, Alberta, Canada.

Note:

Paleoculicis has closer affinities with Culicinae than to Anophelinae.
