Genus ACARTOMYIA Theobald, 1903

Name-Bearing Type: 

Acartomyia zammitii Theobald, 1903.

Classification: 

Subfamily Culicinae, tribe Aedini. Acartomyia includes only three species that comprise the Mariae Complex.

Distribution: 

Coastal areas of the Mediterranean Region. Acartomyia mariae is also recorded from areas of the former Soviet Union.
