ADULT FEMALE: Proboscis short, about one-third length of antenna; body without scales, wing with scales on alula and posterior margin only. Eyes narrowly if at all separated above antennal pedicels. Antenna with 13 flagellomeres; flagellomeres 2-11 (possibly also 12 and 13) each with basal whorl of setae arising from ring of pale cuticle; flagellomeres 2-13 with 4 types of setae: subbasal whorl of very long setae, somewhat scattered subapical circle of shorter setae, numerous pointed sensilla scattered on surface and a few blunt-tipped sensilla; apex of flagellomere 13 bifid. Clypeus with a few setae. Proboscis about 0.33 length of antenna, expanded laterally, bent downward; labella well developed. Maxillary palpus longer than proboscis, with 5 palpomeres, palpomere 1 very short, palpomere 3 elongate, bearing numerous sensilla basiconica. Thorax with numerous setae on anterior area of scutum, at least 6 mesokatepisternal setae. Wing length 1.9 mm, with slender setae on many veins, microtrichia on membrane, scales restricted to alula and fringe on posterior margin. Mid- and hindlegs with numerous setae, midleg with apex of tarsomeres 1-4 each with pair of short spines, hindleg with apex of tarsomeres 2-4 each with pair of short spines; mid- and hindungues present; midleg with empodium.
