Type data: 

Holotype ♂, locality not stated (Baltic amber).

Geological-Palaeontological Institute and Museum, University of Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany.

Note: 

This species was originally described as a species of Aedes (Finlaya). The type specimen is certainly a culicine mosquito, but it cannot be assigned to an extant genus of tribe Aedini based on information and illustrations contained in the original description. The absence of spotted wings precludes it from being included in genus Finlaya.
