Holotype ♂, Locality not stated (Baltic amber).

Zooloigcal Museum, Vilnius University, Vilnius, Lithuania.

Note: 

The author placed this species in genus Aedes and stated that it "most probably" belonged in subgenus Finlaya. The type specimen is definitely a culicine mosquito, but it cannot be assigned to an extant genus of tribe Aedini based on the available information. The absence of spotted wings precludes it from being included in genus Finlaya.
