In certain nematocerous larvae, the paired palatal brush borne anterolaterally on the labropalatum distal to the median labral plate and the torma; sometimes reduced to a few filaments. In mosquito larvae, with a few to hundreds of filaments supported by the lateral palatal crossbars.
