In male mosquitoes, the complex of structures surrounding the gonopore between the proctiger, gonocoxites and sternum IX; presumably consisting primitively of the basal pieces, parameres, prosophallus, phallus and opisthophallus, e.g. in Verrallina; usually comprised of the basal pieces, parameres and aedeagus, but including the lateral plates in Culex; the homologies of the various components are unknown.
