In mosquito pupae, the width of the trumpet measured at one-half the trumpet length; measured along a line perpendicular to the line of projection for the trumpet length. Reinert et al. (1997) measured trumpet width along a line extending from the base of the pinna to the angle of the trumpet length in species of the Anopheles quadrimaculatus complex.
